With increasing growth of urban population and urban development, the necessity of building new public service centers and determining an optimal place for them have become obvious. Due to dramatic increase in population, chaotic development of the city, and increase in the number of vehicles manufactured in the metropolis, Tehran faces a shortage of appropriate places for parking vehicles in crowded areas. Optimal locating of public parking lots is an approach and solution for traffic dilemma. Geographic information systems and Boolean logic are appropriate systems for finding the most optimal place for building Multi-story parking lots. This article investigates and evaluates multi-story parking lots in Tehran 15th district, considering parameters like attractive centers for travelers, access networks and urban passages, quality-structure, traffic junctions, different useful land uses, etc. Analytic hierarchy process (AHP) was used to weight the above mentioned parameters, and Boolean logic was used to overlap produced layers. After applying final weights retrieved from AHP model and overlapping produced layers, optimal sites for locating Multi-story parking lots were determined. Finally, suggestions were proposed according to the results and requirements of time and space.

Today, tourism certainly can be a sustainable resource of income. In areas with higher density, there is higher needs for a place to spend leisure time on one hand and on the other hand the need for employment is more severely felt. Shahreyar with a population of one million is a large population center in Tehran province. A large part of this population depends on Tehran or Karaj for their income and even for spending their free time which results in increasing traffic jams of these metropolises. The area is a green plain covered with fruit gardens whose beauty and maintenance depends on planning and increasing the benefits of garden owners. Otherwise, these gardens will end in the construction section as it has happened in the last few years. In the present research, the area was investigated from different perspectives and field information were collected. Results indicate that the area is in need of powerful planners with the capability of long term planning and providing the necessary requirements to attract capital and create confidence for investment in building new creative contexts and eliminating or minimizing limitations and obstacles. Obviously, green plain of Shahreyar has more powerful rivals like towns in North of Tehran and if it is going to maintain its status, new plans must be implemented in the area.

Theory of sustainable development was proposed in 1970s, and its foundations were implemented gradually by international organizations and national governments. Emphasis on protecting the environment, reducing energy use, preserving environmental values, along with helping local societies in their development are among principles emerged in designing and managing hotels and accommodations, so that since 1990s eco-hotel acts as a distinctive brand in the global market and especially in countries with an active economy in tourism. Eco-tourism management with a particular emphasis on “essential preservation for development and essential development for preservation strategy” seeks to play an active role in the realization of sustainable development according to the agenda agreed by governments. Plans implemented in the process of designing and managing by eco-hotel brand have been so significant that other countries now view its principles a special necessity.
The present article seeks to investigate the basic requirements of approaching eco-hotel in Iran. The results of this documentary-analytic study indicate that Iran environmental values and geographic diversity, along with principled utilization of environmental values and creating maximum adaptability between hotels and residences with the characteristics of every place and area requires the application of particular guidelines

This paper was prepared in response to the UCGIS consortium in the summer of 1999. The objective of this challenge is to review the successes and inferences of geographic information science related to urban and regional planning. This study outlines five areas for the distribution of geographic information science. The development of a geographical database will be helpful for analyzing the planning of combination of geophysical technologies with urban models, the development of planning support systems and facilitating participation in research and education challenges. While scientific advances in building tools are effective in supporting the planning process, little effort has been made on applied guidance in strategic information management. This weakness in the dissemination of the tools of planning limits the application of science for politics and decision making, which is necessary for environmental, social and economic development. The educational process, which is the first important step in technology transfer, contains many challangs, For example, the availability of suitable facilities for the training of planning professionals and other participants in the planning process, and the preparation of the required infrastructure for education and research. Therefore, further research and policy development in the following areas will increase the performance of planning support systems and tools: training and technology transfer, database building, protection and availability, standardization and regulation.

Today, airports are not complexes like passenger terminals and large railroad stations, with cars and passengers on the one side, and on the other side the planes, but airports have gained a multi-purpose existence. Nowadays, by increasing the capacity and efficiency of the airports on the one hand, and paying attention to issues such as sustainable development and environmental protection on the other, consideration of geographical factors in the location of airports is deemed very important, as in developed countries It receives a great deal of attention. Among the geographic factors affecting the location of the airport, the climatic and topographic components play a greater role, as they have a great influence on the efficiency and activity of the airport. The main objective of this paper is to assess the strengths and weaknesses of the locating process of the country’s airports based on climatic and topographic factors. To achieve this goal, secondary and field methods have been used. Based on the findings of this research, insufficient attention to climate and topographic factors in the location of airports in the country has led to a decrease in the safety and health of the flights and, in some cases, severe and fatal accidents. This Situation can be improved by correction of existing deficiencies and the application of geographic factors in future plans.

Since the launch of the first satellite to determine the global situation, more extensive use and the need for more accuracy is constantly increasing. Particularly one of the navigator concerns is the need to the continuous determination of status through using wireless network with a higher degree of confidence in urban areas. Unfortunately, the blind areas of the city are the opposite pole to precision in the positioning system because they are out of satellite's range of detection and reduce the precision of positioning. To overcome such problems, the use of pseudo-satellites as a complement to the GPS system can be effective in eliminating the weak signal reception and the ambiguity of the phase, and in achieving full accuracy and increasing the productivity of the Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS). Pseudo-satellites are ground-based devices that transmit waves that are similar to GPS waves, and can increase the efficiency of receivers as a complement. This tool is an additional observational factor to address the above mentioned disadvantages. But due to expenses and environmental problems, the number of pseudo-satellites that can be installed is limited. More importantly, to reduce the multi-path error of pseudo-satellite signals it is necessary to determine the position of the antenna and pseudo-satellite device with accuracy. In general, this paper focuses on the development of a satellite simulator system and its proper economic appraisal to cover the blind spots of the GPS system in urban areas, using precise information of satellites and 3D maps.

The rapid expansion of urbanization and the disproportionate physical development of Tehran metropolis due to the increasing growth of population in recent decades has damaged many of the recreational and tourist areas of old Tehran. The existence of those regions could play an important role in reducing mental and emotional pressures of urban life in the present age. This has led to the emergence of high-rise buildings, the density and compression of the living space of Tehran's citizens and the decline in the amount of per capita allocations to green space and recreational use, due to the shortage and high prices of land. It seems that one of the ways out of the current situation and of compensation for the lack of per capita allocations to green space uses is the empowerment of the tourism industry with utilization of unused and immediate areas around Tehran, such as the tourist site of Rudbar-e-Ghasran in the city of Shemiranat with its natural attractions, activating of which, through removing constraints and enhancing capabilities, will play a major role in reducing the issues of Tehran metropolitan area and creating sustainable development of the studied area.

Geography is a creative and constructive knowledge, and the geographer is actually the constructor of his/her environment. He / she is analyst, far-sighted, considerate of all aspects and the leader of future development. Geography, on the one hand, tends to focus on development activities, and on the other, assumes the position of assessing the socio-economic reflection of developmental activities. Geography, as a judge, while accepting the imbalance in the region as a factor in the emergence of regional exchanges and interactions, opposes the imbalance in geographical space and insists on its justice-seeking attitude in the economic-social spheres. It can be summarily said that geography plays a key role in the realization of the main goal of (comprehensive) developmental plans, that is to organize the system of human activity, by providing a systematic recognition, analysis and explanation of capabilities and constraints, land zoning, analysis of socio-economic structure of the area and study of its consequent ecological structure.

The presented findings in this study are in their current state not based on the findings of numerous experiments and long and necessary experience, but rather based on my experience and judgment during the preparation of comprehensive plans in the cities of Mianeh, Miandoab, Masjid Soleiman and Ardebil. Therefore, it is hoped to be gradually supplemented by more technical data by the experts in the field. Because it must be acknowledged that the information received from the Cosmos Satellites is far more extensive than the little mentioned in this article. The method of content processing is such that it first describes the features of satellite images of COSMOS in general and the KFA-1000 in particular, under the title of "Comparison of analogue images with satellite digital images", and then the applications of these images in various fields - to the extent that the author is familiar with- are discussed, which include:
• Geomorphological studies; • Preparation of land use maps; • Economic Geology; • Agricultural-rural studies; • Preservation of natural resources; • Separation of urban and rural areas; • Provision of thematic maps; • Geographic analysis; • Providing space photomaps and mapping through photogrammetry.
